Directed Giving Every dollar makes a difference. Every life is worth saving.
It is your support that makes it possible for Cameron Animal Rescue to save more lives and provide consistent, compassionate care to every animal we take in. Your generosity helps us offer food, shelter, medical treatment, and a second chance to animals who need it most. Whether you prefer to give a one-time donation, purchase much-needed supplies, or sponsor a pet’s care, every contribution makes a direct and lasting impact.
Special Programs
General Donations
Over the last 10 years we have found loving homes for more than 1,500 animals – cats, dogs, guinnea pigs, rabbits, and even a bird!
Donations fund basic medical care for all of our animals, including:
- Vaccines
- Fecal testing and deworming
- Spay/neuter
- Microchipping
- Food, including prescription diets as needed
- And more to meet daily needs
Neonatal Kitten Rescue
This program is particularly close to our hearts. We rescue over two dozen orphaned newborn kittens every year – many just days old. These fragile babies require round-the-clock care, including bottle feeding, stimulation, cleaning, temperature regulation, and careful monitoring.
Donations fund:
- Kitten milk replacer (over 4,000 bottles fed!)
- Supplies for feeding and hygiene
- Incubators and other specialty housing
- Specialized veterinary supplies and care for fragile and ill kittens
Sponsor a Specific Animal(s)
Want to donate, but want to direct your funding to a specific animal? Visit the adoption page – Each animal’s profile includes a link to sponsor their care.
Donations fund:
- Daily care, food, bedding, etc.
- Vaccines
- Fecal testing and deworming
- Blood testing (species and age specific)
- Spay/neuter
- Other basic medical care as needed (upper respiratory infections, etc.)
Sponsor a Special Case
Mac’s Cats (and Dogs)- Named after a very special Cameron Animal Rescue alumni, this program seeks sponsors for specific animals with more intensive medical needs and expenses.
We never say no to an animal because their care is complex (or expensive). Just like Mac (aka Lone Survivor), we believe every animal deserves a chance to have a long healthy life, and a family that loves them.
Each animal in this program has individual medical or care needs, and specific funding goals. You can read about each animal and choose who to donate to.
Charity Care/Sponsor a Senior Client in Need
The cost of veterinary care has become continually more expensive, and for many people, especially those on fixed incomes, funding for a veterinary emergency is out of reach. This program helps to off-set some of those costs for those in need.
Donations fund veterinary care for the pets of people with fixed/low income, with first priority given to seniors, and high cost medical emergencies/treatment.
Dr. Cameron's Sanctuary
As anyone who knew him was aware, Dr. George Cameron could never turn away an animal in need. Over time, the rescue became home to many cats, as well as a few rabbits, birds, and dogs, who are not adoptable due to complex behavioral and/or health issues, but who could not return to where they came from safely. One of our last promises to him was that those animals would always have a home at the hospital, no matter what, and that we would care for them throughout their lives, ensuring their comfort, happiness, and safety. Donations to this program help us keep that promise- funding daily care, including food, daily care, and appropriate medical care as they grow older.
