Orion is a beautiful boy, but that is the least interesting thing about him. He has walked a long and difficult road to get to where he is today, but you wouldn’t know it given his happy-go-lucky, playful attitude.
Orion came to Cameron Animal Rescue from a city shelter after being found emaciated and wounded, with a severely broken elbow. Nursing care to stabilise his condition and help him gain weight; delicate, specialised surgery repaired his elbow; and months of pain management, careful physical therapy, and guided activity to increase his strength and regain his use of his leg were successful beyond our wildest dreams. Orion is now strong and healthy. He runs, plays, and is happy and comfortable. He has regained full use of his leg and has almost full range of motion.
Orion is healthy – he is FeLV/FIV negative; he is neutered; he has his full series of 3 FVRCP (distemper) and Rabies vaccines; he has been fecal tested and dewormed. His adoption includes testing for Feline Bartonella; microchip; 30 days of free health insurance. He has no other known health issues at this time. However, he will be at increased risk of arthritis in his leg in the future, and any adopter must be prepared to provide that treatment.
Orion is a friendly, silly, playful boy. He loves people, and enjoys being pet and held, and playing all types of games. When very excited he can become mouthy, so a home with very young children is not a good fit. Orion is tolerant of calm dogs, and can be tested with other dogs. He enjoys playing with other cats, and especially chasing toys together, or running and playing tag. Understandably, he does not enjoy being tackled or wrestling.
